I received this email this morning. Yikes! This means Oak Tree Press will publish Intent to Hold in print and ebook format. Stay tuned for further details!
Dear Thonie,
It gives me great pleasure to inform you that you are the winner of this year’s Police Blotter contest. Here are some of the remarks from the judges, all who are published mystery authors:
I really enjoyed this story. The two main characters (both law enforcement) were likable, flawed, realistic. The Hispanic emphasis was fresh. Although there were a few stereotypes, in general it showed a wide range of traits, good and bad.
The various personal relationships were well developed, especially between the protagonists, without detracting from the tension of the action. The bad guys were scary.
Not a big fan of description, I could feel the overwhelming heat and see the terrain.
I would buy this book. (or their next)
Your win will be announced on the Oak Tree Press Website at some point in the future.
Okay, I jumped the gun a bit on that announcement.

Congratulations anyway. The book is out?
Not yet. It should be out within the next year. I’ll be letting you know.
Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!
Thanks!
Congratulations, Thonie! I’m so happy for you!
Once again……well deserved! Congrats! Looking forward to the release!
